Viqarunnisa Noon School and College is the best school in Dhaka without any doubt. This secondary school is only for the girls. The Institution has four campuses around the city and a total of more than 25 thousand students. It was established in 1952 and situated in 1/A New Bailey Road, Dhaka 1000.

Firstly, it was called as Ramna Preparatory School. In the year of 1950, the wife of governor Firoz Khan Noon, Viqar un Nisa Noon visited it and decided to move it to the current location. She helped to make changes that’s why it’s named after her.

After that the management of the school started high school and students participate for the Senior Cambridge Examination in 1956. In order to improve and provide more value, it started higher secondary in 1978.

It has multiple shifts to maintain the class. The campus of the school is about six acres of land. There are three branches in Dhaka at Dhanmondi, Azimpur, and Bashundhara. They also gives opportunity to join English medium courses.

Government Laboratory High School

The Government Laboratory High School is one of the best high schools in Dhaka. It was founded in 1961 from the idea of Muhammad Osman Gani, principal of the Govt. Teachers’ Training College. It’s a public boys high school. The motto of the school is Light, more light and Come for knowledge, spread out for help.

With the idea of Osman Gani, Muhammad Shamsul Haque, Director of the Department of Public Instruction inaugurated in 1961. Khan Muhammad Salek was the very first headmaster of the Institution and he held this position for 12 consecutive years.

There are three groups of Secondary and Higher Education in Dhaka. Those are A, B, and C. As a result of the excellent performance, Government Laboratory High School is in group A. The admission process of the Institution is very easy.

Children can join class by the section of the lottery. And from class two to eight, it has an admission system, which is held in the middle of December. There is no admission test for class nine; it depends on the result of the Junior School Certificate or Junior Dakhil Certificate.

In the year of 1964, the school achieved fourth place in the merit list. Then in 1993, 27 students of the Institution got positions on the merit list. Dhaka. For the very first time, it was opened as a junior school for the children of Bangladesh Border Guards employees.
